This month the employee spotlight is on Teddy Long
Congratulations to Teddy Long for earning this month’s employee spotlight. Teddy is one of our captains on the M/V Ayanna Joyelle, we had a chance to ask Teddy some questions;
Q: What do you love most about your job?
A: Being a part of an industry where I matter, where I can make a positive impact for the crew, the company, and the industry.
Q: Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have.
A: I don’t have anything against life ashore, but life on a boat is better.
Q: How have you impacted the team’s success?
A: I want to help the transition from lunch box line to the full-time live-on.
Q: Tell us about a professional success story that you’re proud of.
A: I am most proud of seeing mariners complete their first solo-trip – when they are the master of the vessel.
Q: What is your most memorable achievement in your career, and why?
A: With 40 plus years, there are many memorable career moments. However, I am more interested in seeing other mariners experience and excel at the challenges and achievements that come with towing barges.
Q: Who or what inspires you professionally?
A: The opportunity to train and develop professional mariners.
Q: What makes you proud to be a part of this organization?
A: The company listens. That makes people feel good about being in an organization. They work with you for the greater good.
Q: Age old question…Cats or Dogs??
A: I love both.
